Stop Waiting Until You Feel Ready

Can I challenge you for a minute?
What are you waiting to do because you don't feel ready?
Maybe it's applying for a new position.
Starting a business.
Speaking up in a meeting.
Going back to school.
Or finally saying "yes" to the opportunity that's been sitting in the back of your mind.
If you're waiting until you feel 100% ready...
You might be waiting a long time.
Here's what I hope you'll remember:
Confidence usually comes after you take the first step, not before.
Growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone.
You don't have to have every answer before you get started.
One of the things I've noticed as a coach is that people often underestimate themselves.
They tell me they're waiting until they have more experience.
More credentials.
More confidence.
More certainty.
But here's the interesting part.
When I ask them what "ready" actually looks like...
They usually can't define it.
Here's what I've learned.
The people who continue to grow aren't fearless.
They're willing.
Willing to ask the question.
Willing to take the meeting.
Willing to raise their hand.
Willing to bet on themselves before they have every detail figured out.
That doesn't mean you throw caution to the wind.
It means you stop letting fear make your decisions.
So let me ask you three questions.
What's one opportunity you've been putting off because you don't feel ready?
What's the worst thing that could happen if you took the first step?
What's the best thing that could happen if you did?
Sometimes we spend so much time preparing for the next chapter that we never actually start writing it.
Don't let that be your story.
Take the class.
Submit the application.
Start the business.
Ask the question.
Have the conversation.
You don't have to see the entire staircase.
You just have to be willing to take the first step.
I'd love to hear from you.
What's one thing you've been waiting to do?
Share it in the comments. You never know who you might encourage by taking that first step out loud.
And if you're looking for someone to help you work through what's holding you back, let's connect. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation to turn "someday" into "today."
